First time out 2009

14 05 2009

I went out with some of the guys that ride on the barge canal at pickwick the other day. It was a good day and a nice way to start the season out. They have a good crew who is all about getting out on the water and having fun. Heres some pictures and video.

Things I miss

15 04 2009

Just wanted to list a few things that I (And I’m sure some other people) miss about the lake from this past summer and the ones before:
-Getting a sunset session on a weeknight with great water.
-Sitting on the very front of the boat coming into the cove, with the warm summer night air. It’s a good feeling
-Landing a new trick, and hearing the boats screams for being so stoked about it
-Spring creek
-Second creek
-Parking the boat to listen to music and hang out
-Firework experimentation
-Watching the sunset over the dam
-Fishing off the dock
-Hiding the treasure
-Walt, Kmac, Chad sessions behind the malibu
-Relaxing on the dock after a day of riding
-Blob and trampoline
-______Bobber
-Chase and his nickelback
-Spring 2 Summer event. Ben winning with his yahoo
-Waking off
-The Chap
-The Dam Store

Summer 09 will be E-P-I-C

Slider Still Up

12 04 2009

Today, on an overcast saturday here in North Alabama, Me and Walt went over to the slider location to check if it’s still standing. Luckily for us, it is. It looked to be only about a foot off the water now, as the water had risen. We’re really stoked to hit this thing and I just wanted to update the blog to let everyone know we still plan to hit this thing.
There is a possibility i’ll get some footage or photos at some point this week. I’ll try my best.

I wish you all glassy water and great sets

Normalcy

7 04 2009

Normalcy is definitely the opposite of everthing right now. The weather sucks, all friends are held down by college work. Lately, I have had plenty of time to get some real work done though. I have had time to make the intro for all 2009 C-rad production videos. The first video will drop within a month, one way or another, I will get myself behind a boat.

And to finish this post off, I bring a quote from the Push Process trailer.
“But the fact is, Wakeboarding is a pure form, absent from all the politics, when you get back into riding, it’s about you and the water”

You are now officially stoked to ride.

The Jandle- (Spring Break Part 2- Lake trip)

21 03 2009

Part 2 of our spring break adventures included a trip to the Joe Wheeler Lake reservoir to enjoy 2 days building a slider (A rail to slide on for wakeboarding), in the great Spring Creek. After spending some money and time at Lowe’s on wednesday night, we loaded up thursday morning and headed to the lake. At the lake, we made all the cuts at the lakehouse, and then headed over to spring creek with a canoe and got to driving the supports for the slider 3 feet into the mud, followed by building the rest of the slider. We ended up finishing the whole slider minus putting the PVC sliding surface on top during day 1. We got screwed by the weather, and leaky waders, so we made a group decision that we’d rather finish it this morning rather than get hypothermia. This project went together very well considering the lack of planning and amount of changes in the original design

The finished project

The only planning we did. We did this while cutting wood, and never made one cut that didn’t work out. We got extremely lucky.

We didn’t get a chance to try out this new slider because the river was pretty rough with a heavy cold wind coming across. “The Jandle” will be officially complete, and have it’s test runs sometime around early may. Stay tuned for video and pictures.

I’d like to thank Austin Elrod for his help on this project. Me and walt could have never done this without him. He did about 60% of the work.

Thanks for checking out the site, and stay tuned for videos during summer.

It’s just another film that won’t get made~SB09 Part 1

19 03 2009

Yalright, so me and walter went on a journey down to the south, known as gulf shores. We arrived just as the clouds cleared around 2:00 PM on sunday. This gave us just enough time to get some skim boarding in that day, but woke up on monday to a wet and rainy mess.
Pictures from Sunday.

After waking on monday and catching a nice lunch and breakfast combo from our favorite pizza buffet (CiCi’s Pizza), we headed back to the condo to grab the skimboard, and then we loaded up and headed to the ferry to get to Dauphin Island. After a long wait, we boarded the ferry for a nice wet ride to dauphin island, and met with Ian and Tyler and got some skim boarding done. Afterwards, we went back to the ferry, only to find out we missed the last trip back to the mainland, and were stranded with Ian, and Tyler for the night, which wasn’t so bad. I forgot the camera for this trip, and I hate it because the skim boarding was awesome this day.

Wednesday, we woke up to a sunny day and boarded the ferry. We got back home and then went to watch some softball, followed by skim boarding for the last time on this trip. It was a beautiful day, but the shores had been steepened, which deterred our skim boarding attempts. A few pictures~

That concludes this post. Tomorrow we’ll be getting up bright and early to build a slider and assuming we finish it we’ll be hitting it on friday.

Another Jandle Spring Break Begins

14 03 2009

Yesterday was the start of Spring Break, 2009. I left class yesterday after bombing a test. This started Spring break. Leaving Auburn, the temperature read 74 degrees. As I got onto I-65 and began heading north, it dropped extremely quick. By the time I got back to Madison, I read the temperature as 43 degrees. Thirty degrees colder from traveling three hours north. All is well though, because this spring break begins with a trip down to Gulf shores, for some beaching and skim boarding, and we’ll then make it back up north, possibly designing a slider.

Updates to come shortly.

Glassy water and Nice sunsets

Jenniferpalooza

11 03 2009

It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to update. As I update this I’m sitting on my patio of my my third story story apartment and all I can see while looking west is sweet sunshine and beautiful blue skies. Last sunday, March 1st, this same view was completely white because auburn got dumped on with up to 6 inches of fresh powder in some areas.

By thursday of the same week, it was back into the upper 60’s. This set up the perfect weekend for Jennifer to come, and got to come into auburn for perfect springtime seventy degree weather. We held a little fiesta for her saturday night and it turned out to be a fun night.

This weather not only set us up for a perfect jennifepalooza, but also for a great spring break. This spring break should include a video from C-rad productions as always, which could possibly include some slider footage, as well as beach footage, and other random spring break footage that happened.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks because C-Rad productions will be getting back into summer mode spitting out videos and pictures on an almost daily basis.

I wish everyone warm weather and glassy water.
